holes. As a calm and deliberate sense of panic
set in, a giant fin appears on the water. No, bigger than that, much, much bigger…
Soon the jaws of an enormous shark break the surface and swallow the hapless
teenagers. Once inside, they discover the 'shark' is actually a giant submarine,
complete with on board dock and staging area.
As the two men in the staging area take notice of them, a small water craft piloted by a man in a tuxedo zooms into the shark past the closing jaws and roars up to the dock, deftly taking out the two guards. After locking the door, he calls them over and says their country needs them. This giant submarine is headed for the underwater lair of an evil genius bent on world domination. They need to help him to take over the sub and use it to infiltrate the secret base-radioing its location back to the waiting government forces. As he finishes explaining the plan, security forces burst through the door and a battle ensues, during which, the unknown agent unfortunately perishes-the subsequent investigation naturally ruled out friendly fire… With the agent gone, the gang splits up and sets out to explore the sub and find a way to take it over. One group stumbles in to the engineering deck, and Buffy takes it upon herself to distract the crew while the gang looks for a way to disable the ship. Simultaneously, the other half of the gang infiltrates the bridge passing Goodra off as a present for the captain. When the ruse goes sour, old-fashioned violence proves enough to take the bridge. Meanwhile, the sabotage in the engineering area works a little too well as things begin exploding. The gang barely makes it out as the exploding shark sub crashes into the docking area of the secret base. In exploring the secret base, they discover a massive lab with various scientists working their experiments to the exclusion of all else and a giant machine of unknown purpose. As the team began poking and prodding, they accidentally activated the machine which began churning out mini-Melwinkle clones (1/4 actual size). When they tried to undo the mistake, they kicked the machine into overdrive and a titanic battle ensued. After defeating the Melwinkles the team is surrounded by base security led by No. 2, Melwinkle's attractive right hand woman. The gang is taken prisoner and locked up in a cell with 2 inept guards. As they plan their escape, No. 2 enters the cell and proposes a deal where the gang can win their freedom in exchange for helping her undermine Melwinkle, thus making her the big cheese. After careful consideration, the gang again chooses violence over negation, knocks her out and makes their own escape. Confronting Melwinkle in his diabolical control room at the core of the underwater volcano, the gang accidentally wrecks the geothermal power plant that powers the lair, and they barely all make it to Melwinkle's escape pod before the volcano erupts. As for Melwinkle…he was last seen sinking into a pool of molten lava. Nobody could have survived that. |
