The old gal never had rocker panels(just stainless
steel covers). I fabricated rockers as well as
making the rear bolt on fenders a part of the
body. Lots of compound curves to weld and blend
but well worth the effort.
The trunk was shaved of all hardware
and a rear roll pan was fabbed. The
stock taillights have been replace by
these flush fitting sealed modular
units.
The car was painted with a
coat of semi-gloss black paint
bought at the local farm store.
Though stuff and it looked like
shiny primer. Note that the side
trim is still on the front fenders.
This is shot of rear with the
frenced license plate and notches
for the dual exhaust. Safty bars
are welded just under the new
sheet metal, front and rear, to act
as hidden bumpers.
